State of the art audio production facility
The audio production facility comprises a large control room with facilities for film re-recording and seating for students that opens to a large recording room through a lock lobby. Both rooms have been acoustically treated for maximum isolation and minimum acoustic reflections. A 3 ton duct air-conditioner cools the studio facility through acoustically treated individual input and output ducts for maximum isolation.
The heart of the audio production suite is an Apple computer that runs an array of professional audio production softwares including Protools and Logic Pro X along with industry standard hardware that include Yamaha HS5s along with Yamaha HS8s subwoofer, RME's UCX audio interface, Audient ASP 800 pre amplifier, Universal Audio's Twinfinity tone blending pre-amplifier, Icon Digital's Qcon Pro controller with two extenders, along with a range of professional condenser and dynamic microphones.
Classroom equipped with learning and teaching aids

Each learning station is equipped with an Apple iMac computer running relevant audio applications, a MIDI keyboard and Native Instruments Maschine Mikro hardware. Teaching aids in the classroom include an Apple iMac computer, an overhead projector, a large white board and audio amplification. Learning stations at the media lab are networked to SIFM's server where students can access audio, video and textual learning resources, view tasks and assignments, take exams, interact with lecturers and fellow students, participate in discussion forums, post compositions and performances on to the student billboard.
